I know ps3 lego games, especially later in the gen, had terrible performance. But i'd go with what other people are saying anyway because superheroes 1 has better performance and i think is the better game. Avengers, the story mode is better than super heroes for sure, and that's saying something, because super heroes' missions were fantastic.
And even though they only use mcu dialogue, it's actually funnier imo, they twist the lines around and make them literal, it's brilliant. Free roam is obviously better too. Unless you haven't seen an mcu movie or two, id highly recommend marvel superheroes 2 over avengers.
Lego avengers suffers from what i like to call lego movie theater syndrome. pretty much every level in the game is just lego versions of scenes ripped straight from their respective media. Even most of the audio lines is just recordings of the. There are a couple things that avengers has that this doesnt, but this is still better.
Also, even though it doesnt have quick silver, this game still has a superspeed feature in the customizer. As for hub, i like this one better because it has a lot of unique places, though you do miss the whole manhattan hub. I’d say lego marvel super heroes is the better of the two.
Lego marvel avengers just felt like a cheap cash grab of a game that was based of the mcu movies. I found it kinda boring in comparison to the first lego marvel game. If you don't have either, buy marvel super heroes since it's probably under $20.
Then buy marvel's avengers when it eventually goes on sale. Overall the avengers game includes over 200 characters to unlock, in lego marvel super heroes 2 there are over 191 characters, and in the original lego marvel super heroes, there were over 150 characters. with this incredibly large roster of heroes, it's fair to say fans had plenty of new characters to meet, especially since the mcu has only introduced us to a handful.
