The extra speed is nice for compiling things, but not a massive difference compared to the i5. Video stuff benefits more from it. Mine also stays quit at around 55c and only whooshes when i play games.
And the ssd was the best choice. The screens are practically identical, with the obvious difference of their sizing. The pixel density is 218 ppi.
The current imacs come with a choice of processors, each better than the next, of course. When looking at processors, keep in mind its number of cores, which are the brain of the cpu.
